Goodwood’s Clerk of the Couse Ed Arkell said: “Conditions were extremely warm yesterday, with temperatures reaching 29.64 degrees Celsius, with a breeze.

“We put eight millimetres of irrigation on the Straight Course after racing – we didn’t do anything on the Round Course.

“Today’s forecast is to remain dry with some sunny spells. Temperatures will be lower than yesterday – between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius.”
